Our Experience
Limelight was started in 1993 by Catherine and Phil Steadman, to provide accountancy services to smaller businesses.

Until recently most mainstream accountancy firms were only interested in larger audit clients. We saw there was a niche for accountants specialising in small owner-managed businesses – sole traders, partnerships or small limited companies.

Building up our own firm has given us a practical insight of what it’s like to start and run a small business. We know what you’re going through, as we’ve experienced it ourselves.

Why we’re well qualified to help
Catherine is our Chartered Accountant and technical director. She looks after all the technical aspects of our customers’ accounts, so she’s the person most of you will be familiar with.

After leaving University with an honours degree in Logic and Mathematics, Catherine trained with a small firm of Chartered Accountants, specialising in smaller customers – which proved to be excellent experience when starting Limelight.

Phil is our managing director, looking after all aspects of running Limelight including IT, office facilities, staff and business direction. He also reviews some of the bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT returns.

After graduating with an honours degree in Physics from Bangor University, Phil joined the defence industry, where his roles have included design and development, database analysis, team leading, project management, training and quality control. Much of the experience he gained in this demanding industry has proved invaluable at Limelight.
